Danas se u jednom delu sveta "slavi" jedan od velikih konzumerističkih praznika, jedan od mnogih datuma za koje ne marim. Kako je manikir za dan zaljubljenih svake godine bio tražen kao tema za Matching Manicures onda neću biti kvariša, ali ću učestvovati na svoj način.

Today a part of the world is celebrating one of great consumerist holidays, one of many dates I don't care about. Since Valentine's Day mani theme is requested every year for Matching Manicures I will not be a spoilsport, but I'll take part in my own way.

Even though I've been keeping my nails quite short these past several months, from time to time I do let them grow enough for me to do some nail art or stamping that requires longer nails. French manicure is among those cases and stamped French tips are about the only ones I do sometimes wear.

Ciaté Paint Pots, lakovi prepoznatljivi po svojim šarmantnim bočicama sa mašnicama, kod nas su dostupni samo u Sefori, a izbor tamo je prilično oskudan. Imam svega par njihovih lakova i oba sam dobila. Ovaj koji pokazujem danas stigao je čak iz Danske, a poslala mi ga je Maria, znajući koliko volim prigušene nijanse zelene. Ciaté lakovi imaju 13,5 ml i koštaju oko 1000 dinara.

Ciaté Paint Pots, polishes recognisable by their charming bottles with little bows, in Serbia are available only at Sephora and choice of colours is very limited. I only have a couple of their polishes and both were given to me. The one I am showing you today came all the way from Denmark, form Maria, who knows how much I love muted shades of green. Ciaté polishes have 13.5 ml and retail for about € 8.5.

Essence Date in the Moonlight

Essence Date in the Moonlight je jedan od lakova koje nisam primetila dok nisu povučeni iz proizvodnje. Postojale su dve verzije ovog laka, a moj primerak je kasniji. Prva verzija je bila više petrolej, a ova je više teget. Ne znam da li ima razlike u baznoj boji, ali sećam se da im se šimer razlikovao. Ovu verziju još uvek viđam u Liliju na okruglim stalcima tako da ako vam se svidi još ima šanse da ga ulovite za 139 dinara.

Essence Date in the Moonlight is one of those polishes I haven't paid attention to until they were discontinued. There were two versions of this colour, with mine being the later version. The earlier one was more leaning towards teal, and this one lens more towards navy blue. I don't know it their base colours differed, but shimmer was definitely different.

Kiko 226 Rouge Noir

Na red je stigao još jedan skoro crn lak. Rouge Noir je jedan od najpoznatijih Chanel lakova, a italijanski brend Kiko je napravio svoju verziju. Sudeći po slikama i poređenjima koje sam videla ovi lakovi nisu isti, ali jesu imenjaci i iz iste su porodice boja.

It is time for another nearly black polish. Rouge Noir is one of the most famous Chanel polishes and Italian brand Kiko has its own version. Looking at comparison photos the two aren't dupes, but they are namesakes and belong to the came colour family.

Manhattan Liquid Metals 101z

Manhattan Liquid Metals je bila ograničena kolekcija Manhattan kozmetike iz 2011. godine, a do ovog laka sam došla preko sajta Moje krpice. Mada sam ga kupila sa namerom da ga koristim samo za pečatiranje (i u toj ulozi mi se pokazao odlično) morala sam ga probati i samog.

Manhattan Liquid Metals was limited edition collection from 2011. I managed to get this polish through local second hand goods website, which I've found to be a good resource for polishes that aren't available in Serbia. I got this one with the intention to use it as a stamping polish (and it turned out to be a great polish from stamping), but I had to try it on its own as well.

Dugo nisam predstavila neku pločicu za pečatiranje sa motivima za francuski manikir, uglavnom zato što sam nokte uporno skraćivala na dužinu nezgodnu za pečatiranje takvih slika, no našla sam način da prevaziđem tu "prepreku" i sa zadovoljstvom vam predstavljam jednu od 27 pločica koje je MoYou Nails letos dodao svojoj ponudi - MoYou Nails 117.

Matching Manicures - manikir sa Pinteresta

Danas za usklađeni manikir treba da rekreiramo manikir sa Pinteresta. Ja Pinterest slabo koristim i pritom ne kačim tuđe slike te sam morala da pretražujem table u potrazi za manikirom koji bi mi se svideo, a da je dovoljno jednostavan da u ovim trenucima kada nemam mnogo vremena mogu lako da ga uradim. Izbor je na kraju pao na crno-srebrni tačkasti frenč koji sam našla ovde, a koji potiče odavde.

Today we are supposed to recreate a manicure from Pinterest for our Matching Manicures. I seldom use Pinterest and I don't pin other people's images so I had to browse other boards searching for a mani I'd like and that would be simple enough for me to do now that I don't have much time on my hands. My choice was this black and silver dotted French mani I have found here, and it is originally from here.

Moj tekstić koji je objavljen je prilično neutralan i prilagođen širokoj publici Ela, a ovde sa vama delim tekst koji bih volela da je mogao biti objavljen.

Jelena and yours truly had the pleasure to write an article for Serbian Elle magazine. We wrote about classic manicures - red polish and French manicure respectively. My text had to be adjusted for readers of Elle magazine, and now I want to share with you the text I wish could have been published.

MoYou Nails 106

Prošli put kada sam pečatirala sam spomenula da je MoYou Nails izbacio osam novih pločica za pečatiranje. Od tih osam pola ima motive za francuski manikir. Pločica 106 mi je odmah privukla pažnju jer osim šest motiva koji su jasno za francuski manikir ima i dugačak centralni motiv koji se može nositi kao frenč, ali i drugačije. Zapravo sam pokušala za tu šaru da napravim izgled starog papira, ali nisam sigurna da sam uspela u toj nameri. O tome što mi je nadlak razmazao boju da ne pričam. Sam motiv je veoma dobro urezan, ravan i dugačak 2 cm. Nije potrebno tražiti uglove za grebanje i prenošenje dezena - i jedno i drugo je najlakše raditi u smeru pružanja notnih linija.

Last time I showed you some stamping I had mentioned that MoYou Nails had released eight new image plates. Out of eight, half are for French manicure. Stamping plate 106 drew my attention because aside from six designs for French tips it has a long central motif one can use for French manicure, but for other manicures as well. I actually wanted to depict old paper look for this design, but I'm not sure I succeeded. Not to mention top coat smudging the polish. The motif itself is well etched, straight and 2 cm long. You don't need to look for scraping and picking up directions and angles - going along the stave works best for both.
