Dance Legend Top Prismatic

Several years ago, when Dance Legend made a top coat that would turn any nail polish into a holo, I wanted to have it really bad. Then, after I finally got my hands on one, I didn't use it. In part because I acquired enough holo polishes (is there such a thing?), and in part because I was somewhat disappointed with the effect of this topper.
Dance Legend Top Prismatic is a silvery linear holo top coat with large particles. This type of topper gives a subtle effect if worn in a single coat, and two coats leave a silvery veil that can significantly change base colour. It won't be noticeable on lighter polishes, but darker and brighter shades will show the difference. The base of this topper is on a thicker side, similar to the glitter one. I suppose it needs to be like that in order for the particles to be well suspended, but it also means it will dry slower due to coats being thicker.
You can see from the photos that the effect is not in your face, but it is stronger in person. I don't like it too much over bright polish, but I'd say it is perfect for light and pastel polishes, that already have a lot of white in them because there is not that much of a colour shift. I would give it a go over a duochrome or multichrome polish because I think the chrome finish would make a more interesting base than a classic creme. Photos were taken in sunlight. I have two coats each over CND Vinylux Mint Convertible and over Avon Nailwear Pro Mandarin Magic.

  1. You can never have too many holos haha! Holos and iridescent polishes are my weakness! Well thermals and glow in the darks too!

I have this and only tried it once. Never blogged though! I also got the Sahara topper too but noticed it has dried out :-( I might try to save it so I can at least blog it! My moto is: must be blogged before binned!

    1. Oh, I have a topper similar to Sahara, but from Essence (great for your budget blog).
