So far, you could notice from my blog that I am not particularly fond of HE polishes. I am not on the fence because of their too high price, because I have some other polishes with quite close price tags. The thing is that I have learned from other people's experiences that that high price is usually not backed up by high quality, and I don't care about brand names. However, from time to time I'll find an interesting HE polish, and if I manage to find it second-hand at lower price, I won't miss that chance. Dior Gris Montaigne is one such polish.
Imam dva sloja laka i nemam nadlak.
Dior Vernis Gris Montaigne (707) was part of Gris City collectionfor spring 2011. It was inspired by one of colours from Avenue Montaigne, Paris Dior Boutique colour scheme. This is a medium-dark grey polish creme, without clear blue, green, brown or yellow undertone. It has high, plastic-like, gloss. It has decent pigmentation. It takes two coats for full colour and even coverage, but I suggest you apply medium-thick coats in order to avoid any patchiness. Where this polish really shines is drying speed. I applied it in haste and took a shower with hair-washing half an hour to one hour later and was thrilled to see that the polish didn't budge. This colour is discontinued, but if you manage to find a second-hand bottle, do get it because it is worth it. Photos were taken in natural light. I have two coats of polish and no top coat.
What a rare sight on your blog ;)
ReplyDeleteI like the quality of HE polishes, they are a delight to apply and have a wonderful finish - that I personally think is way better that in their dupes - but that's just me...
Anyhow it looks stunning on you!!
Thanks. I think that lately I prefer indie and boutique brands because they have more original shades. I got disappointed with some HE brands (Dior included) when they introduced some nail art-y products that are not in line with what their brand stands for. They should be starting trends, not being 10 steps behind them.
DeleteI don't care about the brand-names either. Regardless of this, I like the chic color of the nail polish, it's so office like :))
ReplyDeleteThanks you. Yes, it is work-friendly shade. :)
