Skittle Manis

Prošlog petka smo za temu imali skittle manikir. Ovo je nešto što volim da radim i imala sam odličnu ideju te sam odmah izvukla svoje China Glaze holo lakove i krenula da ih mažem. Onda sam se setila da sam istu sjajnu ideju imala i pre nekoliko godina te sam izvukla druge lakove i mogu reći da sam ovom drugom verzijom daleko zadovoljnija. Sigurna sam da i sami možete videti zašto.

Last week's thematic mani theme was skittle mani. This is something I like to do and I had a great idea so I took my China Glaze holo polishes out and started painting my nails. Then I remembered I had that same idea years ago so I picked other polishes and I had to say I am far happier with this other version. I am sure you can see why.

Jelly Sandwich

Jelly sendvič nije tehnika koja mi se preterano sviđa, pre svega zato što ne volim jelly lakove. Pre mesečak dana nam je upravo ovo bila tema za tematski petak te sam htela da vidim imam li nešto u kolekciji što bi poslužilo. Rezultat je... u redu. Sasvim u redu.

Jelly sandwich is not a technique I particularly like, mostly because I don't like jelly polishes. However, about a month ago this was a theme for our thematic mondays so I wanted to see whether I had something in my collection that could serve this purpose. The end result is... fine. It's just fine.

Chanel Mimosa

Postoje brendovi koji kod mene izazivaju averziju i na vrhu te liste je Chanel. Ne samo lakovi - odeća, asesoari, šminka, štagod. Dovoljno mi je da vidim ili čujem ime i da ne želim ništa da znam o proizvodu. Iracionalno je, ne tražite objašnjenje. No pre tri godine sam od drage mi Jelene dobila Mimozu na poklon, jer Jelena zna da volim žute lakove. Zašto je tri godine stajao neisproban? Pa, ta averzija nije nestala sa posedovanjem. No prošlog petka smo za tematski manikir mazale nasumično odabrane lakove iz kolekcije, a ja sam imala poseban uslov da taj lak bude do sada neisproban. Otud Chanel na mojim noktima i blogu.

There are brands that I have a very strong aversion to, and on the top of that list is Chanel. Not just polishes - clothes, accessories, makeup, whatever. As soson as I hear the brand name, I don't want to know anything about the product. It is irrational, don't look for an explanation. However, three years ago, my dear Jelena gave me Mimosa as a gift, because she knows I like yellow polishes. Well, the aversion didn't go with owning of a product. But last friday we had a theme of a randomly chosen polish from our collection, and I had an additional condition of choosing from my untrieds. That is how a Chanel polish ended up on my nails and on my blog.

Givenchy Fatal Plum

Nekada davno sam smatrala da ne vredi dati mnogo novca na lak za nokte jer postoje kvalitetne i jeftine opcije i posebno sam mislila da ne vredi davati novac na ime, na brend, jer lak je nešto što ću skinuti sa noktiju kroz nedelju dana ili manje. Stoga nisam kupovala high end lakove. No onda mi se 2014. ukazala prilika da kupim neke polovne HE lakove po, za mene prihvatljivoj ceni. Givenchy Fatal Plum je bio među njima i stajao mi je neisporban sve ove godine. Da, imam sklonost da kupujem stvari koje mi posle samo stoje (ne možete da vidite, ali bacila sam pogled ka polici na kojoj mi stoje društvene igre, od kojih oko 10% nisam nijednom igrala, ali sam morala da ih kupim).

A long time ago I thought it wasn't worth it to spend a lot of money on nail polishes because there are inepensive good quality options out there, and I especially thought brand name was not worth the money because nail polish is something I would remove within a week or less. That is why I was't buying high end nail polishes. However, in 2014. I had a chance to buy some second-hand HE polishes for what I considered a good price, so I went for it. Givenchy Fatal Plum was one of those polishes aaand it sat there utried all these years. Yes, I do have a tendency to buy thing that will just end up unsed (you can't see it, but I just glanced toards my board games shelf, about 10% of which I hever played, but I just had to buy them).

Minty Dotticure

Uporedo sa povratkom blogu, vratila sam se i Instagramu, mada iz sasvim drugih razloga. Ranije sam imala dosta slobodnog vremena i to sam vreme rado provodila na Instagramu. Onda sam imala sve manje vremena i prolazili bi dani, nedelje pre nego što bih pokrenula aplikaciju. Sticajem okolnosti, poslednjih nekoliko meseci zbog posla često idem na Instagram te tako osim poslovnih stvari vidim i ponešto od onoga što meni dragi ljudi kače. Takođe je sada skoro godinu dana otkako radim od kuće te pauze ne mogu da provodim u razgovoru sa kolegama, ali zato mogu da gledam razne lepe slike. Tako sam naišla na nagradni izazov koji je pokrenuo sajt Whats Up Nails. Trenutna tema za izazov su tačkice.

As I returned to my blog, I returned to Instagram as well, although due to a different cause. I used to have a lot of free time, which I loved to spend on Insta. Then I had less and less time and days and weeks would go by without me even starting the app. However, it happened that I actually need to use Instagram for work quite often, which means that alongside business-related stuff, I also catch a glimpse of what people I follow shared. And it is now almost a year since I've been working from home, whiche means that I am no longer spending my breaks talking to my coworkers, but I can spend them now looking at pretty pictures. That is how I found a nail art challenge by Whats Up Nails, and the current theme is dotticure.

Oprolećovana

Sećate se onih školskih sastava Proleće u mom gradu ili Proleće u mom parku? Danas nosimo ekvivalent toga na noktima. Pošto ne delim lakove po sezonama, morala sam da proleće na noktima dočaram na neki drugi način. Kako nisam talentovana za crtanje, mislila sam da će mi pečatiranje bolje ići, ali sam zaboravila da je me teško čak i da bojim unutar linije, što sam planirala da radim. No šta je tu je, ovo je moj prolećni manikir.

In Serbia, a staple theme for essays in primary school used to be Springtime in my city or Springtime in my park. Today we are translating that theme to our nails. Since I don't separate my polishes by season, I had to depict springtime on my nails in a different way. Not having a tallent for painting, I thought stamping should be a way to go, but I forgot I can't even colour inside the lines, which is what I was planning to do. It is what it is, and what it is is my spring mani.

Catrice IcoNails 36 Ready to Grape Off!

Nov petak, nova tema za manikir i nov razlog da napišem koju na blogu. Danas mažemo poslednji lak koji nam je ušao u kolekciju. Poslednji put sam lak kupila u martu 2018. godine, ali sam dobila nekoliko na poklon u međuvremenu od prijatelja i kolega te je tako i ovaj lakić našao put do mene. Firma za koju radim već nekoliko godina organizuje Secret Santa i mene je zimus izvukao kolega sa kojim nisam blisko sarađivala tako da se konsultovao sa koleginicom koja mu je lepo rekla da ja volim nenormalne karmine. Kolega je mislio da ga zeza (muško je pa nije registrovao da sam zaista na posao dolazila sa plavim, zelenim i sivim karminima, ali želim da mislim da oni zapravo na meni izgledaju normalno te da možda zato niko ne zapaža ništa neobično) te mi je uzeo savršeno normalan crveni karmin (skoro djup za jedan od mojih omiljenih ruževa koji se više ne proizvodi) i podjednako normalan vampičan lak. Pun pogodak po obe stavke, ali moram da dodam da, ako tokom čitanja teksta budete imali utisak da ga je pisao Valdorf ili Stetler, to je samo zato što je Catrice uspeo da udari na nekoliko stvari koje me iritiraju. I zato što postajem sve starija.

Another Friday, another theme for a mani and another reason to put a word or two out on the blog. Today we are wearing the latest additions to our nail polish collections. Now, I last bought a polish in march 2018. but I did get some as gifts from friends and colleagues. Okay, just one colleague. The company I work for has been organizing Secret Santa for several years now and my Secret Santa was a coworker I haven't worked with particularly closely so he consulted another coworker who, quite rightly, told him I love crazy lipsticks. My Secret Santa thought she was pulling his leg (he's a guy so naturally he wouldn't notice that I was coming to work with green, blue or grey lips, although I like to think they look normal on me so that is why he didn't think it strange) so he got me a perfectly normal red lipstick (almost an exact dupe for one of my favourite discontinued lippies) and equally normal vampy polish. He hit bulls eye on both accounts, but I need to stress that, if you feel like this post was written by Waldorf or Statler, that is only because Catrice managed to trigger a couple of my peeves. And because I am getting older.

Galaxy 52 Wicked Witch & Galaxy Top Coat

O hai! Kako ste? Ja sam dobro, hvala na pitanju. Da, prošlo je nekoliko godina otkad sam poslednji put objavila nešto na blogu, čak i na Instagramu, ali to je samo posledica života koji je umešao svoje prste. To ne znači da sam prestala da marim za lakove, ali mi je sve ovo postalo veliko opterećenje, posebno držanje koraka sa aktuelnostima. Umesto da jurim za onim što je novo, odlučila sam da malo uživam u onome što već imam. Kolekcija je prošla kroz veliko čišćenje, jasno su se izdvojili neki favoriti, a pečatiranje i ukrašavanje su pali u zapećak. No na Ana forumu je nedavno spontano oživljena stara tema Tematski petak te mi je palo na pamet da bih mogla da malo (samo malo) oživim i blog. Potrefilo se da je tema odabrana za ovu nedelju omiljeni zeleni lak i da imam rado nošen, a nepredstavljen zeleni lak koji se još uvek može naći u prodaji, tako da danas pišem o Galaxy Wicked Witch.

Hello there! How are you? I'm well, thank you for asking. Yes, it's been several years since I last blogged, or even published something on Instagram, but that's life. It doesn't mean I stopped caring for nail polish, it just all became a bit too much for me, especially keeping up with new releases. So instead of chasing trends, I decided to take a step back and enjoy what I have. I culled my collection, some clear favourites emerged, and I put stamping and nail art on indefinite hold. However, an old topic for our Thematic Friday manis had been revived at Ana forum so I thought I might revie my blog a bit (just a bit). And it happened that our first theme is favourite green nail polish, and I have a well loved one that is still available in Serbia that I haven't posted about, so here I am, writing aobut Galaxy Nail Polish Wicked Witch.

Pool Party Polka Dots

Danas u grupi Simples, posvećenoj jednostavnom dekorisanju noktiju, počinjemo četvoronedeljno ispitivanje sveta tačkica i tačkalica. Prva nedelja je, naravno, posvećena osnovnim, jednostavnim tufnama. Sticajem okolnosti, i na Ani je ovo aktuelna tema tako da je meni ovo duplo iskorišćen manikir. Moje tufne su nešto krupnije jer sam koristila najkrupniju tačkalicu koju imam. Za bazu sam upotrebila China Glaze Pool Party koji je bio kod mene na čuvanju, a za tačkanje sam koristila Flormar True Color 027. Nisam nanela nadlak jer mi se svidela tekstura tufnica. Today us in Simples - Nail Art From Muggle To Mastery group embark on four weeks long exploration of dotting tools and dotticures. This first week is, naturally, dedicated to basic dotticure. As it happens, the theme for this Friday at Ana.rs was dots, so to me this is twice used manicure. My dots are on the larger side because I have used the largest dotting tool I have. I have used China Glaze Pool Party that was left to me for safekeeping as base colour and Flormar True Color 027 for dots. I didn't use top coat because I liked the texture. Zoya Neely

Današnji tematski petak posvećen je Zoya lakovima i ja sam odlučila da isprobam Neely, iz ovogodišnje prolećne kolekcije Lovely. Zoya lakovi ne sadrže toluen, dibutil ftalat, formalin, formalinski rezin, kamfor, sastojke životinjskog porekla i ne testiraju se na životinjama. Svi lakovi dolaze u bočicama od 15 ml. Juče smo za tematski petak tačkale nokte. Nisam htela da uradim samo obične tačkice, a ove mašnice već imaju tufnice pa sam poželela da uradim neki manikir u kome bih mogla da ih iskoristim jer ovo nije proizvod koji sam sama odabrala i teško mi je da ga uklopim u svoj stil. Kada vidim crvene i ružičaste mašnice prva pomisao mi je Hello Kitty te otud i ovaj manikir. Koristila sam Don Juan LK101 za osnovu, China Glaze City Siren za tufnice, Don Juan One Coat OC229 za macine oči i brkove i S.he Stylezone 300 za njuškicu.

Yesterday we had dotticure for the theme. I didn't want to do just a regular dotticure and these bows have polka dots so I wanted to do a mani I could use them in because this wasn't a product I picked myself and it is hard for me to incorporate them in my style. When I see red and pink bows I think of Hello Kitty. Hence this mani. I used Don Juan LK101 as base, China Glaze City Siren for dots, Don Juan One Coat OC229 for Kitty's eyes and whiskers and S.he Stylezone 300 for its nose.

Layla Ceramic Effect 52 The Butterfly Effect

Pre nedelju dana ne bih znala koji lak da namažem za ovaj tematski petak jer tema nam je "najneobičnija boja koju imamo". Sada imam savršen lak za ovu priliku - Layla CE52 The Butterfly Effect. Layla lakovi na žalost nisu dostupni kod nas, ali se mogu naručiti sa njihovog sajta, a ima ih i kod nekih online prodavaca. Ukoliko putujete u Milano, od srca preporučujem da posetite njihovu prodavnicu Layla Land, koja se nalazi veoma blizu ključnih znamenitosti, jer tamo imaju tester za svaki lak, a možete i na licu mesta da dobijete profesionalni manikir.

Now I have the perfect polish for this occasion - Layla CE52 The Butterfly Effect. Layla polishes can be ordered from their website, but some e-tailers carry them too. China Glaze Re-Fresh Mint

Na Ani je danas mint petak. Cela ideja oko tematskog petka je potekla od Bebičice prošlog maja kada je predložila da članice koje ga imaju "čim sine sunce meću For Audrey". Tog dana su im se priključile i devojke koje nemaju For Audrey, ali imaju neki drugi mint lak. Osam nedelja kasnije smo dobile zasebnu temu na forumu za tematski petak. Danas opet mažemo mintaće, a ja učestvujem sa Re-Fresh Mint.

Today is mint-themed Friday. The whole idea of themed Friday came from Bebičica last May when she suggested that members of Ana.rs who have For Audrey paint their nails that colour "as soon as sun shines". Some other members, who didn't have For Audrey, but had some other mint polish joined in. Eight weeks later we got an individual thread for themed Friday. Today we paint our nails mint again and the polish I picked is Re-Fresh Mint.

Golden Rose Selective 48 Star Galaxy

Star Galaxy mi je stajao neisproban od februara. Iz nekog razloga se nisam mogla naterati da ga probam. Možda zbog tmurnog vremena, možda zato što sam ga kupila čisto da bih ga kupila. Golden Rose Selective lakovi imaju 16 ml, zanimljive bočice trougaone osnove i uzanu pljosnatu četkicu. U parfimeriji Kristabell koštaju 120 dinara, a verujem da su i drugde cene slične. Danas je na Ani tematski petak posvećen Golden Rose lakovima i ovo je moj izbor.

Today is Golden Rose-themed Friday at Ana and this is my choice. Star Galaxy has been left untried since February. I just couldn't make myself try it for some reason. Perhaps because of the murky weather, perhaps because I bought it just for the sake of buying it. Golden Rose Selective nail polishes come in interesting triangular 16 ml bottles and have narrow flat brush., zanimljive bočice trougaone osnove i uzanu pljosnatu četkicu.

Ombre

Tema jučerašnjeg petka je bila ombre manikir. Vidim da iz nekog razloga mnogi mešaju ombre i gradijent. Jeanette Swatchaholic je divno objasnila tu razliku u ovom postu. Ja sam koristila redom od palca ka malom prstu: Color Club Revvvolution, China Glaze Galactic Gray, NailsIT Barnabas, China Glaze Cosmic Dust i Nfu.Oh 61.

The theme of yesterday's themed Friday was ombre mani. I have noticed many confuse ombre and gradient manicures. Jeanette Swatchaholic explained the difference wonderfully in this post. The polishes I used are from thumb to pinkie: Color Club Revvvolution, China Glaze Galactic Gray, NailsIT Barnabas, China Glaze Cosmic Dust and Nfu.Oh 61.

OPI Black Cherry Chutney

Black Cherry Chutney (NL I43) je bio prvi OPI lak koji sam poželela da imam. Deo je India kolekcije koju je OPI izbacio u proleće 2008. godine, a sada je u stalnoj kolekciji. Možda sam spominjala ranije kako ne delim boje po sezonama, ali zdrav razum mi nalaže da je šimere, posebno tamne šimere, najbolje nositi kada ima sunca, što je uglavnom leti. Uspela sam juče da uhvatim malo sunca pre one provale oblaka kako bih što je moguće bolje prikazala ovaj prelepi tamni šimer.

Black Cherry Chutney (NL I43) was the first OPI I wanted to own. It was part of the spring 2008. India collection and not it is in the core range. I may have mentioned that I don't separate colours by season, but common sense dictates that shimmery polishes, especially dark ones, look their best in sunlight, which is usually in spring and summer. I managed to catch some sunshine just before yesterday's deluge in order to show this gorgeous dark shimmer to the best of my ability.

Aura Nail Beauty 708 Hot & Chili

Missy sa Gnarly Nails bloga (kraljica mat manikira) pre neki dan je oglasila da unosi neke izmene na svoj blog. Između ostalog će uvesti redovnu rubriku u kojoj će ponovo raditi manikire koje je radila kada je tek počela da bloguje. Mislim da je to odličan način da se vidi koliko je neko napredovao. Danas za tematski petak mažemo Aurine lakove i, pošto nemam nijedan njihov neisproban lak, odlučila sam da namažem jedan od svojih omiljenih Aura lakova - Hot & Chili. Kako je izgledalo prvo predstavljanje možete videti ovde. Strašno, zar ne? Ova lepota zaslužuje lepše slike na lepšim noktima.

Missy of Gnarly Nails (the queen of matte manis) announced some changes on her blog several days ago. One of them is introducing a Back in Time category where she'll revisit some of her old manis from when she started blogging. That is a great way to show how much one has improved over time. For this Friday we wear Aura polishes and since I don't have an untried Aura polish, I decided to wear one of my favourites - Hot & Chili. You can see how it looked the first time here. Awful, isn't it? This gorgeousness deserves better photos on prettier nails.

Skittle

Skittle manikir, verovatno nazvan po Skittles šarenim bombonicama, podrazumeva da je svaki nokat namazan drugom, uglavnom jarkom bojom. Odlučila sam da iskoristim divnu nagradu koju sam dobila od Don Juan kozmetike i da predstavim pet njihovih novih One Coat lakova. Nosim OC251 na palcu, OC255 na kažiprstu, OC252 na srednjem prstu, OC256 na domalom prstu i OC250 na malom prstu i veoma sam zadovoljna rezultatom. Namazala sam samo po jedan sloj laka (deblji) i nemam nadlak. Možete videti kako se divno sijaju, a verujte mi da se i brzo suše.

Skittle mani, I guess named after Skittles candies, means every nail is painted different, usually bright, colour. I wanted to try the lovely prize I got from Don Juan cosmetics and present five of their new One Coat shades. I have OC251 on my thumb, OC255 on my index finger, OC252 on my middle finger, OC256 on my ring finger and OC250 on my pinkie and I love the finished mani. I have only one coat of polish (a thicker coat) and I have no top coat. You can se how glossy they are and you can trust me they dry fast.

China Glaze Short And Sassy

Za temu "omiljeno ima laka" izabrala sam China Glaze Short And Sassy jer, iako pretpostavljam da se odnosi na frizuru, mislim da taj naziv opisuje i neke moje osobine - niska sam, drska, samopouzdana i energična. Short And Sassy (80311) deo je Retro Diva kolekcije za jesen 2009. godine i izgleda da je sada povučen iz prodaje.

I picked China Glaze Short And Sassy for "favourite name of nail polish" theme because even though I suppose its name refers to the haircut, it also describes some of my features - I'm short, insolent, confident and energetic. Short And Sassy (80311) is part of Retro Diva collection for fall 2009. and it seems to be discontinued now.

China Glaze Lubu Heels u Lubu manikiru

Lubu Heels i Lubu manikir su mi, za razliku od Louboutin cipela, bili veoma zanimljivi, ali pošto sam za Lubu Heels pročitala više negativnih komentara odustala sam od kupovine i smućkala svoj duplikat. No kako je Šmizla relativno nedavno nabavila ovaj lak i to dobre formule, okušala sam i ja sreću i dobila zaista dobar primerak. Lubu Heels (77064) je deo Lubu Manicure dvojca, a drugu polovinu čini Ruby Pumps. Ne znam da li se i dalje mogu kupiti kao set, ali oba su laka deo stalne postavke i svaki se može kupiti zasebno po ceni od 387 dinara u Alexandar cosmetics i kod njihovih distributera.

Unlike Louboutin shoes, I found both Lubu Heels and Lubu manicure very interesting, but after reading so many negative comments about Lubu Heels, I decided to give it a miss and made my own dupe for it. But since Šmizla found one with good formula, I tried my luck and bought myself one. Lubu Heels (77064) is one half of Lubu Manicure duo, the second part being Ruby Pumps. I'm not sure if the set can still be found, but both of these polishes are part of core collection now and can easily be found.
